Η αποκριά στην Κοζάνη ... είναι γλέντι και φωτιά!
Η δημοτική επιχείρηση πολιτισμού – αθλητισμού και κοινωνικής πολιτικής κοζάνης διοργανώνει κατά τη διάρκεια Ιανουαρίου – Φεβρουαρίου τις εκδηλώσεις της Αποκριάς. Ένα πατροπαράδοτο και αυθεντικό έθιμο της περιοχής μας που ζει και τρέφεται από το μεράκι και την αγάπη των Κοζανιτών. Ιδιαίτερο χαρακτηριστικό της Κοζανίτικης αποκριάς είναι οι Φανοί (φωτιές που ανάβουν σε γειτονιές της πόλης) και η ενεργή συμμετοχή των κατοίκων που ετοιμάζουν το γλέντι του Φανού, χορεύουν υπό τους ήχους των χάλκινων πνευστών και τραγουδούν τα «Ξιανέντραπα» αλλά και τραγούδια κλέφτικα, της αγάπης και της ξενιτιάς. Οι εκδηλώσεις ξεικούν την Τσικνοπέμπτη 8 Φεβρουαρίου και κορυφώνονται την Κυριακή της Μεγάλης Αποκριάς 18 Φεβρουαρίου 2007, με την μεγαλειώδη παρέλαση αρμάτων και ομάδων μεταμφιεσμένων και με το άναμμα των 12 φανών το βράδυ της ίδιας μέρας.
The municipal enterprise for culture-sports and social policy of kozani is organizing the carnival events during the January-february period. This is a traditional and original custom of our region, fueled by the enthusiasm and love of the people of kozani. The main feature of the carnival is spontaneous participation and improvisation acts by the residents of kozani; this participation increases every year, with young people not only participating, but starring. A particular feature of the kozani carnival are the Fanoi (bonfires lit in city districts) and the active participation of residents, who prepare the fanos feast, dance to brass instruments and sing the “Xianedrapa” and kleftika songs about love and foreign lands The events begin on Tsiknopempti (mardi gras), February 8 and culminate on major carnival Sunday, February 18, with the great parade of floats and teams in disguise and the lighting of the 12 fanoi on the evening of the same day. For twelve days the heart of the city beats to the rhythm of traditional feasts and dances to brass sounds, with plenty of local dishes and wine.
